Anon said with a straight face: “Since you are adamant that the Raven isn’t your Totem, that still leaves Snake as a possibility for totem status, no?”

No.
Because:
- I am not Ojibwe. I have no claim to applying that term.
- Even if I was, my bloodkin has no ancestral/family guardian. Which is what a totem is. Totems cover groups, not individuals.
- My roommate Snake is an individual. Me calling him “Snake” is like calling another person “Human”. He has no name, no nom de plume, and prefers that I not write one for him. He is asnake. And so, he is Snake. Because he is an individual that interacts with me as an individual, he is not eligible for totem representation status.
I think that covers it.
