What did Daddy always tell me? “Don’t trust a drink you didn’t fetch yourself.” True, but that doesn’t apply here. “Don’t start something you can’t finish.” Yea, that’s it. While he was referring to fights (and yes, I do finish all fights that I start and a few that I didn’t start but got caught up in), I’m referring to blogs.
The rune blog “From Within The Stone” is more than just on hiatus. It’s deleted, and the disk space it once held has been recycled into someone else’s blog.
I could give you a thousand and one excuses on why I put it down, and I’ll manage to disappoint/offend/justify most of you at once. So I’ll just leave the short answer here.
It got in the way.
And right now, the less that is in my way, the better.
I make no promises (threats) about bringing it back. Just like with my dream writeups, there is much that is very personal and not for public consumption. Most of my knowledge of the runes is in that private cache, never to be spoken of, not even to my love and lover.
There are very good teachers and books out there. If you followed me with hopes of learning something new about them, I apologize. You won’t. Even if I was able to keep up the rune blog, I doubt I could teach you anything. All I can say to you would-be learner, is read, carve, study, live the runes. Approach them openly and with surrender. You won’t master them. Instead, they will open up to you as your ego allows. And if you dare… approach Odin and ask him to help you. Just make sure if he asks something from you, you give it up.
