She’s watching her favorite show again.
He’s on the phone with them again.
“Look at them bouncing around like monkeys!”
“This is a situation that must be dealt with.”
She reviles the men for the stuffed codpieces they wear.
He polishes his watch before strapping it to his wrist.
She mocks the women for the tight fitting clothes.
He notes the suit makes him appear fit and trim.
She derides the performers for the gaudy makeup.
He is careful not to allow a hair to be misplaced.
“They must hate themselves to parade around like that.”
He is careful the world sees only what he wants them to see.
Her show is interrupted, a breaking news segment begins.
“The camera is on, and we’re filming live in three, two, … “
She smiles at the image of her husband on the screen,
thankful he doesn’t have to dress up for any role.
