Dream Journal: 2016-05-11.01

Dreamt the Prima Donna from work had a “friend” visit the workplace. This “friend” was a psychic diviner who went around sticking her nose in other people’s business.

Everyone else just humored the women because no one wanted to be a killjoy but the psychic was talking out her ass and saying things that right or not, just should not be said in public, much less in a work setting!

When she came to me, she fell silent. “I can’t see you. I mean, I physically see you, but I can’t scry you.”

“That’s alright. I’m too busy today for elective activities anyway.”

“No. No one can hide from me.” She dropped the pleasant facade she arrived with and focused intently on me. “Why can’t I see you?”

I gave her an innocent face. “Because I’m not what you expect to see? I dunno. I’m not psychic. Dunno how that works.”

She turned back to Prima Donna who nodded subtly. She turned back to me and pulled a small box from her purse.

Tarot cards.

She gloated over her promised victory. “Can’t hide from these.”

“Rude.”

“What?”

“That’s bloody rude of you. You come into my office and get in my face about my personal business and you think there will be no consequences? I don’t care who invited you into their life. I’m telling you to get out of mine. Good. Day.”

While Prima Donna started teasing me about not having any fun or joy in my life and how much of a killjoy I was being, the psychic quickly pulled a card while muttering her determination to find what I was hiding from her.

Her hand slipped and the pulled card fell face up on my work desk.

Death.

Laying sideways so that the head was to my left and the psychic’s right.

Inwardly, I was pleased as fuck. Outwardly, I pretended to take offense. “I suppose this is when you tell me I’m cursed and only a five hundred dollar candle will save me, yes? Get out of my office! There are no carnivals here!”

“You’re not real.”, she whispered at me.

“[Prima Donna!] Do you bloody mind!”

Prima Donna realized her gambit had backfired terribly and was now trying to get her “friend” out of the building as soon as possible. Others were speaking up about being uncomfortable with the entire “game” and the backlash was beginning.

I noted the layout of the floor and realized I was dreaming. Uniting the contents of the dream with a physical world event at work made me concerned.

Taking advantage of the dream environment, I threw down some woo in my office to further protect me.

I’ll be prepared for what comes.
