Early morning meditation. The vehicle isn’t so important this time as the obstacle I encountered.
A ginormous single horizontal line appeared, stretching even into the edges of my peripheral vision. An eye opened and focused on me as it emanated waves of indignation, rage, and a desire to commit harm upon me if I did not submit immediately.
I knew it to be my own mind’s eye.
“I see you.”, I said to it.
“I see you and I know you.”
“You are not my master.”
“Cease, and be still.”
The eye closed against its will and with obvious struggle. Once closed, its appearance was unmade in reverse order. I swept even the memory of it aside and continued on with the morning meditation.
Though, I guess I really didn’t win that staring contest in the end if I’m remembering it now and writing about it, huh.
