Because Someone Asked: “Three Ways to Describe Loki”

Funny the things you find when you read the back pages. Or in this case, server logs.

Someone found my site using these words in Google: “What are three different ways to describe Loki” I had a quick chuckle, then proceeded to more important issues. But the question stuck with me. And of course, because I was catching up with my Twitter feed for the day, I had to answer the question there.

To the kid googling “What are three different ways to describe Loki?” for homework. “Slippery. Sensous. Salacious.” You’re welcome.

The question is still bugging me. I feel a familiar presence over me. So I should probably explain myself. Warning. Unverifiable Personal Gnosis (UPG) ahead.

Slippery because the bastard never holds still. Every time I think I have him, that I know what he’s up to, or why he’s mucking about with such and such corner of my life, he slips away leaving me in a puddle of barely restrained chaos. And laughing. Every time I think I know what he is, he looks over his shoulder at me and I see him a little more clearly. Then I realize, I don’t know him at all.

Sensuous because he delights in the pleasure of the senses. The worst I could do, in my service to Loki, is deny pleasure. The feel of the soft wind as it blows over damp skin. The kiss of cotton. The embrace of lace. Ever feel a sugar cube melt in your mouth? The slight crunch from gently sucking against the collapsing mound of concentrated sweetness. The reaction of your tongue as the sugar melts over, and melts into your flesh. This is the touch of Loki. The awakening of the fire in your blood.

Salacious. Excuse me, I have a stupid grin to wipe off my face. See, before Loki grabbed me, I was afraid of my sexuality. I was afraid of my response. I was afraid to explore. And a couple decades of rigid Christian beliefs made me afraid to find out. Then I get snatched by a gender-bender authority challenger. There are dreams I will not writeup, because I think some of the actions he and I engaged in are illegal in a few states. Loki’s influence on me has “encouraged” me to explore beyond the digital states of heterosexual and homosexual, masculine and feminine. People are warned to be wary of Loki’s “inappropriate couplings”. Yes, be very wary. But when they happen (and they will!), embrace, indulge, feel, and delight. “The forbidden fruit is the sweetest.” (Yes, but I’ll add to that, “Not every treasure is worth stealing.”)

I hope that helps with your homework, anonymous googler.

ThelemicWaves added three more words, but I’ll leave it up to you to determine why, because I only understand two of the three.

I’d add a footnote. “Thoth, Hermes, Mercury”

Make of that, what you may.
