Monday: Vulture spirit. This was a vulture so large I could only see one outstretched wing. The feather structure and placement is unmistakeable. No hints at coloring, though. So I can’t look up geographical placement.
It wanted me to see it. I’d go outside and not a cloud in the sky. I get a break and look again, clouds all over in the vulture’s wing shape. Not quite horizon to horizon, but at least half the sky. For this area and this season, these clouds are unusual patterns. Look again 30 minutes later, empty sky. Not even a plane’s contrail.
No emotion, no message, no foreboding. Just “See me. I am here.”. Greeted in friendly fashion.
Tuesday: Vulture spirit. Greeted in friendly fashion and allowed to further examine feather placement, wing structure, neck and beak shape verifying vulture spirit.
Wednesday: Vulture spirit. Greeted and explicitly acknowledged that the spirit is seen.
Thursday: -nothing- No sense of loss or missed connection. Sense of “Things are where/how they should be”.
Friday (today): Coyote, apparently physical. As I’m crossing a bridge over a freeway (not a true crossroads because the two paths have no connectors), a coyote watches me approach. I slow down the car when I see him because I don’t want to risk hitting the coyote if he (definitely he) darts in front of me suddenly. The coyote sees me, nods, and begins to cross the road in front of me as I come to a stop. He’s healthy, lean, beautiful fur, and quite full/proud of himself as he trots straight across the road. He reaches the other side, looks back at me, then follows the embankment of the overpass and disappears from sight. Dter was in the car with me. We both saw and remarked on the coyote.
Why I’m officially noting this: After dropping Dter off at school, I drove home via the same route. On coming to the area where the coyote was seen, I did not recognize the area. Even after pulling over and taking a hard look from my initial point of view, the area was fundamentally different even though I had just driven through not three minutes prior.
I’m not saying it’s something of note, or that it’s connected to the vulture spirit. I’m not saying it’s dismissible, either.
