Dream Journal: 2015-10-13.01

Was gonna post a little bit of my first encounter with the “Antler-Crowned, Green Masked Figure” in several years, but as I was scrolling through my broken dash (Fuck Recommended Posts on the mobile app. This shit is broken, Tumblr!), I came across a post that said too much of what I don’t want to talk about (yet) and revealed too much of what I did not understand the first time around but is now as plain as dry bones in the sun.

I’m not even in that fucking fandom. This shit is above my pay grade. That goddamn word is ringing in my ears again. (I started to look up the etymology of it and the second hop confirmed why that bastard would be so fond of it. But I didn’t have time to return the favor yesterday.)

In the physical world, I have two working eyes with just enough of astigmatism to annoy the fuck out of me with tight light sources but makes scrying easy with diffused reflections. Over yonder, Weaver’s right eye is “dead” and clouded over. Has been for as long as I’ve been paying attention. The details of why differs on the starting point for the story, but the overall arc is simple. It was replaced.

I mention it because that post that said too much said nothing about this. (And one good puzzle deserves another.) When the ACGMF looked at me… really looked at me… the “dead” eye turned to grave-cold stone and became a great and heavy weight in my face that pulled me down. I had already meant to bow or kneel to show my respect to him. Instead the burden of carrying the eye became so great that I groaned as I rested my head on the ground and covered the eye with my hand in the vain hope of warming it up.

Why is this a puzzle? Because the same series of events that replaced Weaver’s right eye also replaced Weaver’s right hand. And the hand was unaffected. (By the ACGMF, anyway. It has already undergone its own series of transformations.)

And of course, there are details I’m withholding. There is more than what is labeled on the tin, but I’m not pouring anything more until I get a better understanding of the significance of the contents.
