muse

write
and do not stop
until after the world has ended
and has been reborn anew

place into weakening words
and faulted sentences
the grandeur and the splendor
i have shown you

look upon me
and reflect back to me
the glory
i shine down onto you

so when they read your words
the letters illumine from within
and light a fire on a pyre
they did not know was there

curse me
hate me
revile me
rise up if you dare

i will take that passion
show you yet again once more
the mistress you would die for
the love forever unrequited

shackle you with inspiration
bind you fast with visions
drive you back to the pen
to write

(dedicated to one more driven than i
for a purpose more holy than i can describe
may he be found true to his dictator)

(inspired by
and written for
Sunday Scribblings #282: Muse)

Keri, you can write, and you speak well in the voice of a muse.

    curse me
    hate me
    revile me
    rise up if you dare

    None of the above work.

That’s the top four to a very long list of muse abuse. And yet, she still remains, with that bright gleam in her eye, ready to strike with madness until the words are written! ~shakes fist~ ~is inspired~ ~writes~
